The Brüning Group, or respectively Arnd Brüning, has donated a set of jerseys with a very special message for the 1st men’s football team of the TSV Fischerhude/Quelkhorn. On Sunday, 07.08.2022, the men’s team kicked off the season in the special jerseys for a one-off match against the SV Komet Pennigbüttel from the district of Osterholz-Scharmbeck.
The jerseys in the colours of Ukraine are printed with a large peace sign, the hashtag #standwithukraine and « STOP WAR », which gives them an extraordinary appeal. After the match on 18.09.2022 against the FC Worpswede, the jerseys will be auctioned off at the TSV sports ground for a good cause, arranged by the club’s own supporting association « Charity Play ». The money raised will be used to provide urgently needed aid for people in Ukraine. They will go to the organisation « We Care Otter », which organises weekly aid transports to Ukraine. The money is used to purchase important items such as medicines, which are delivered to the front line.
« All those involved are once again making a clear statement about the current events in Ukraine. We want to express our solidarity with the people in Ukraine and also with those who had to leave their country, » explains Matthias Warnke, coach of the district league football team and head of the Waste Wood and Waste-to-Energy national units at the Brüning Group. Visibly moved and almost a little proud, he adds: « A great idea by Arnd and a unique initiative in amateur sport in our region.
