What do you find most exciting about the market situation right now?
Our entire market is currently waiting for the onset of cold temperatures. Contracts for the heating period, for example in Scandinavia, have already been concluded for a long time. The spot market will become active as soon as the cold temperatures melt our customers’ stocks. Until then, we are preparing ourselves to be ready to deliver when things get going.
In addition, the topics of torrefaction and gasification of biomass have developed further. This is opening up new markets for us alongside conventional incineration. Hot, hot, hot!
What is your favourite motto for difficult situations at work?
I try to actively tackle difficult situations because no decision is, in itself, a decision.
How would you describe the corporate culture at the Brüning Group with a film/song title or a film/music genre?
It makes me think of the film ‘Chef’. It’s about a chef who starts a food truck business, always keeping in mind the well-being of the team and creating a family-friendly environment.
Which famous person (dead or alive) would you like to be your mentor for a day and why?
Den Koch, Autor und Filmemacher Anthony Bourdain habe ich eine ganze Zeit lang verfolgt und wäre er noch am Leben, würde ich super gerne einen Tag mit ihm verbringen und versuchen, die Welt aus seinen Augen zu sehen. In meinen Augen war er jemand, der immer neugierig geblieben ist, den ganzen Globus bereist hat, gutes und ausgefallenes Essen liebte und dabei ein ehrliches Interesse an den Menschen hatte, die ihm bei seinen Reisen begegnet sind.
